Schro creates some really beautiful, heavily textured recordings. On the top it's generally mellow and atmospheric, but there's also a school of digital points lurking below the surface, waiting to peak out. The music is moody and well suited to soundtracks, which makes good sense as he has been known to score films from time to time.
"The recordings I make are attempts to revisit moments and feelings I've experienced that I just can't explain. Id like to get my head around them somehow. Id like to recreate the emotion, or what triggered the emotion. Music is the best way for me to do this.
On these tracks I played my gretsch guitar, my girlfriend's bass, a silver drumset, a wurlitzer and a vibraphone. I programmed beatboxes and used lots of sounds from synth modules, samplers and my extensive mini casio collection. I also used a computer to edit and manipulate sounds. I'm fond of the blips and bleeps and I thank the nonlinear/computer gods for the new sounds they've allowed us all to enjoy."
These three songs are from the Relation Ep, released December 2003. Limited edition cds of the release are available directly from the artist at schro.com.

I'm not good at writing reviews but seeing there's still no review at all for this wonderful piece of music forced me to write one. Grab it! It's refreshingly unconventional and erm... good ;) compared to most of the other stuff around here.
